LNG Blue Corridors
Demonstration of heavy duty vehicles running with liquefied methane

Quick navigation

The LNG BC ended in May of 2018. This map has been updated until the end of the project, so probably not all current stations in Europe are depicted. To check current LNG stations availability, please reach NGVA Europe.

To realise the project goals a structure of seven technical work packages has been defined.

  • LNG vehicle technology and LNG fuels logistics technology is addressed in WP2 and WP3.
  • WP4 that deals with Regulations, Homologations and Safety aspects, will provide recommendations for reaching common and harmonized European standards.
  • The definition of the roadmap for the roll of the LNG blue corridors is dealt with in WP7 whereas the first stage of the roll out takes place in WP5 titled: Fleet demonstrations. WP5 is the heart of the project comprises the building and operation of. 14 LNG or L-CNG stations on critical points/locations in the Blue Corridors and the building–up of a fleet of approx. 100 LNG Heavy Duty Vehicles operating along the corridors.
  • In WP6, LNG fuel station performance, LNG vehicle performance and GPS data are collected and processed over a 2-3 years demonstration period to assess the evolution of the roll out of the roadmap for European LNG Blue Corridors. Dissemination of the results takes place in WP8.
